Setting up Hikvision Router with a Sim Card for Internet Access – 4G12C

Use this as an overview guideline. Router software may be updated and changed and therefore the user interface may look different from when this page was published.

Two ways to setup Hikvision Router

  • Recommended – Desktop with a WIFI Adapter
  • Cellphone

Requirements

  • Large Size Sim Card
  • Data Loaded on the Sim Card
  • If you fail to set up the router via cellphone browser, it is recommended to do setup via a computer/laptop with a WIFI adapter.

Precheck

  • Insert Sim Card into Hikvision Router
  • Ensure Aerials are connected.
  • Power on Router.
  • You are located close to the router.
  • Important!! – During the router setup, Do not disable either 2.4 GHZ or the 5 GHZ Network on the Router. By Default both are enabled. If you are connecting an LZ WIFI Camera, the 2.4 GHZ network needs to be enabled.

1. Connecting to Hikvision WIFI Network

  • Go to Cell phone WIFI settings
  • Select the HIKVISION network, should have a name like HIKVISION_****

2. Connecting to Hikvision WIFI Network

  • When connecting to the network, it may come up with the following message “Internet may not Available”
  • Select “Connect only this time”

3. Check you are connected to the Hikvision WIFI Network

  • You should now see a “Connected without a internet”

4. Open your Phone internet browser

  • Open your Internet Browser
    • Chrome
    • Safari
    • Firefox
    • Other

5. Tap on your Address Bar

6. Enter the ip address of 192.168.0.1 into your address bar

    • Tap on Address Bar
    • Type in “192.168.0.1” without spaces before, in between and after,  and without brackets
    • Tap Go or Enter

7. Message “Your connection is not private”

    • You may receive the following message “Your connection is not private”
    • Tap on “Advanced”

8. Tap on Proceed to 192.68.0.1

    • Tap on “Proceed to 192.168.0.1”

9. Hikvision Startup page will load

    • The Hikvision Startup Page should load now.
    • Tap “Start”

10. Hikvision Sim Card Settings

    • Use all Default settings
    • You may need to type in “internet” for the APN
    • Tap Next

11. Enter new wifi password and router password

    • Enter new password for Hikvision WIFI Network
    • Remember this new WIFI password, you will need it in the next 2 steps.
    • Enter new password for Router Login
    • Tap “Next”

12. Router will now configure new passwords

13. You will now need to reconnect to Hikvision WIFI Network with the new password you just entered.

  • Open your WIFI Settings
    Select HikVision WIFI Network
  • Insert new Password created earlier in step number 11.

14. Open your Internet Browser and see if you can browse the Internet

  • Final Check
    Ensure you are connected to the Hikvision Network
  • Open your Internet Browser and see if you can browse the Internet
  • If you cannot –
    Most common issues
    • No Data on the Sim Card
    • Bad Signal
    • Sim Card is Locked
